In the coffee shop
Grinding noises do not stop
As people’s cups are filled to the top
Parents are working
And at their laptops they stare
Trying to find motivation to do the work that fills them with despair
Students are studying and doing homework
Hearing sounds from the cash machine of the clerk
Distraction is all that they hear
As they cannot bare the thought of exams being near
