An Ink Prison
Hands sketching at the speed of light
Ink drawing in black and white
Images began to form on the page
Of a bird trapped in a cage
The scribbled black lines of wing trying to fly
The eyes dark, full of fear he felt he may die
The artist so talented and quick with the pen
That I too felt this bird might be near the end
His hopes of escape beginning to sink
Alone in the prison built of ink
