Ballroom Dress
I went to a store and got a ballroom dress
That’s sure to impress
My friends
Yet, I don’t enjoy wearing
Dresses, I’m more daring
In casual shirts and jeans
This also means
I may have to wear one
Sooner or later; Time has done
Its job
But this dress, it’s interwoven
With brown-white strands; sewn in
To cause myself
To feel slightly magical; good for health
Magical, like a fairy
Or princess; the feeling’s never scary
I shouldn’t be afraid of feeling magical
Thought it may not be factual
I’ve put on my shoes now; must not be tardy
For my friend’s birthday party!
