Memory
Not like a flash
but a flicker,
Not a loud him
but a faint
whisper...
That draws
us back
into a place
when times
were lazy
Summer days
and fun
Came easy.
But the faint
whisper
whisks itself
away
and we are
rapidly yanked
into reality
and realize
that times
have changed...
That we
are in
a subway
RUSH
- of here and
NOW -
with little
time
to savor
the sleepy, sluggish
Current
of yesterday.
But...
When we do
acquire a
moment to
ourselves,
That faint
whisper
returns,
and we
are again
immersed
in a world
freed from
the rush
of the
Subway -
Back
to a time
where the
breeze would
lay its cool
palms upon
your cheek...
Where the food,
fun
and conversation
seemed to be
the only
things
of importance
And the
hustle and
bustle
of the world
is non - existent...
And is
some time - dead
Place
meant for
another
day.
