Meeting Your Savoir
When you prepare to meet your Savior,
What thoughts will fill your mind?
Will you be overcome with joy
Or fear your sins from the life behind?
Will you linger in the doorway
When he spreads His arms out wide
Or will you run to embrace Him
Knowing you’ve nothing to hide
Will the first words to escape your mouth
Be “I’m sorry, Lord.” Or, “Thank you!”?
Will you still avoid His gaze
For shame does overtake you?
I know I want that special time
When I finally meet my brother
To be filled with joyful feelings,
And not with any others
So I’ll live my life the way
I know I can be proud of
When I wrap my arms around
The One who has the most love
