The Wait

I sit and I wait in the dark cold garage
waiting and watching out the window
looking for his car
I give up, go inside
Still waiting pointlessly
Mom is cooking dinner
My brother is being annoying
I'm waiting for my dad
Finally I hear the garage door open
I can hear the key go into the door
Then the door flies open
and well now my wait is over
Dad is home
