Champions Of the World
Champions Of the World
A diamond shaped land of dirt and grass
Dark and mysterious
One land of dreams
Waiting to be discovered
Suddenly flooded by spotlights
then the familiar song plays
And the bulky man yells
on top of his lungs:
Play Ball!
As players trot out on the field
First batter ferociously swings his bat
The door to dreams coming true
Has opened wide
Nine innings
twenty seven chances
Two teams fight for the chance
to fulfill their dreams
One hundred sixty two games
Eight out of thirty advance
Only one thing on their minds
Is the series of seven
To prove that they are
Champions of the world
