depersonalized
My face is blurry
The mirror’s not right
It’s not me
Staring back
And it fills me with fright
My breath shortens
My body stands still
Who is that girl
Looking at me in the reflection of the windowsill?
We have the same eyes
We have the same nose
But she isn’t me
Who she is,
I don’t know
A knock on the door takes me back to reality
I walk out of the room, acting fine
I don’t know what happened
But that world
On the other side
None of it was ever mine

this is a true story, that has happened on multiple occasions. I don't want my condition to just be a paragraph in a psychology book, I don't want to be an experiment, but I want to show what it's like to have episodes of depersonalization.
