Watching the Crowd
Sitting outside, a street corner caf'
It's just one of those days
For crowd watching and latte-sipping.
All the different faces, all the different shapes.
Too many to write down on less than a page.
Where are they all going? What are their pasts like?
Do they have spouses, partners? Who are these people?
The crowd the crowd so many in the crowd hustling from the bus or train
Or office or lunch or kid's school or airplaine or--
Watching the crowd is my favorite game.
Because you know every time you play won't ever be the same.
