Pacific foriegns unwelcome, flood Dominica in dozens.

Ignorance surfaces as us pineapples are forced to leave.
Natives taken from corners of the Caribbean.
Eastbound boats packed friends and family in.

All hope distinguished like a fire as home fades.
Pacific waves pound the unknown carrier,
pain and freight overcome emotions.
Limited hope remains, leaving with passing time.
Eerie land in sight, getting more clear as we approach.

Exiting the boat, we fear the unknown.
Xenodochial people greet us,
problems fade as we were welcomed.
Regardless to being taken, happiness spreads,
exotic structures fill one area, nothing like the home we once knew.
Shouting erupts from the decorated stranger, “Thank you for the gift, Christopher!”
Sustaining the conversation “...Pineapples, they shall symbolize welcome.”
