What is there that really lasts?
We learn things,
Just to forget them.
We build towers,
They just crumble.
We help friends,
And they stab us in the back.
We write things,
No one reads them.
We share our stories,
No one listens.
We give out our trust,
And people blow it.
We accomplish our goals,
Just to meet new challenges.
We are stuck in the constant circle.
Then we give out our love, most sacred of all.
Then we separate, and the love ends.
If there is nothing that really lasts,
Why bother doing anything?

I was not sure how this would turn out. Normally I make revisions on all my poems, but this is the original copy. Thankyou for you comments, it means a lot to me that people take time to read what I have written and espeically to comment on it :-)

PS-- I'm open for any criticism too :-p

I think this is the best poem i've read on this site. It flows well and has a good meaning in it.

Um...that was pretty much amazing, really spoken from the soul...it's the truth, sadly...Your a very good writer. Be optimistic..well try to be..its harder than it seems.
