When I met you the time moved slower,
The air grew heavier, and I could never get over
How paradise was a place and it was you, within you.
The days of youth and freedom rang, the sound shrill, yet still
I prayed for the nights, the shooting stars, the moments I wish I already
Had with you. Those ethereal moments that I wished for would never perish.

We were positive, those ethereal moments that we wished for would never perish,
The dark chocolate delicacy of our eyes, close like Christmas, can’t be over
We said. But time moved faster than we could run, and we were tired still
We fought, still we persisted, still we overcame the battle we already
Should have lost. Still we tried. Happy moments were slower
To come, harder to come by. When can I be with you?
Our talks got shorter. When can I be with you?
Had the excitement evaporated already?
Had all of the good times perished?
We yelled and wished it over.
Time moves slower.
Here we are still.
Here we are still.
But it is far from over,
Daily ice cream dates cease to perish.
Cherish our moments, no we’re not dead already,
We can’t be, shaky hands will steady, shake slower,
Don’t breathe heavy, look beyond the burning sun, I’ve got you.
Please don’t breathe heavy, look beyond the burning sun, I’ve got you.
I will take you to the silent shade of the mountains, to the spot that I already
Cut out with the machete. In the shade pain ceases, our hearts will beat slower,
The breeze through the pines we sit under breathes a new life, we have got ours still,
Open your eyes like you did my heart and see before you our kingdom that cannot perish.
Cherish these heartbeats and the roar of the double rainbow waterfall we sit over, we reign over.

Cherish these heartbeats and the roar of the double rainbow waterfall we sit over, we reign over
A world we created, destroyed, rebuilt, and live in. Jump through the colors of life that, from you,
I see in the reflective oceans of your eyes. Jump through the colors and down the waterfall already!
Close your eyes as the fresh air of reality slams your lungs, breathe like this reality won’t ever be over,
Breathe like you don’t have to go home, like the responsibilities don’t exist, like, like, like...Wait - Slower.
Breathe like you have nowhere to be but here. Breathe and know I will always be near; we will never perish.

I still hope moments with you
Will never perish or become slower
And last over eternity.
Because with you
I’m already
Home.
