The Heart of a Child
The Heart of a Child
The heart of a child has no walls,
nothing to hold it back.
It goes whenever adventure calls,
and never falls off track.
The heart of a child always sees clearly,
the beauty of the world.
The seasons that come and pass yearly
Gods creations unfurled
The heart of a child is much smarter,
then adults care to say.
Because they have to work harder
to keep theirs pure by day
The heart of a child laughs everyday,
and doesn't run with the crowd.
You know a child will never stray
from the things that make you proud
The heart of a child is full of friends,
who take part in its love.
Because to them it never ends,
they always look above.
The heart of a child has few concerns,
about dress and what to wear.
Something that's fit for cuts and burns,
and easy to mend a tear.
The heart of a child's always kind,
to everyone it meets.
And always soft to try and find,
the thudding of its beat.
The heart of a child loves to play games,
whenever it gets the chance.
It wants to include everyone the same,
to run, to laugh, to dance.
The heart of a child loves kisses and hugs,
and takes them when it can.
It doesn't blush red or get real bugged,
with its mothers loving hand.
The heart of a child's within us all,
we just need to look.
Inside our memories and fall,
into an open book.
