Pugnare Aut Mori
Hopeless, mindless, pawns
In the game of fates facades;
Choking on the lies you tell
the people you offer to hell.
Useless, hollowed, vermin.
With few choices you give
Hate always filters out.
Because we're all ignorant humans.
Nobody is to say what's right,
No one can make that accusation.
We can only determine who we are,
As a group, race, or person.
Forget or forget me not,
These words sum up the lot.
Rulers of hate, and stupidity;
Humans, to the brim, morbidity.
To by-stand and let them send,
So many more to their ends;
Is to welcome the death of your dignity.
If you lack a particular proclivity:
Bravery.

In my english class we have been doing a holocaust unit, this came out of inspiring words the character Erika told her brother Daniel and his girlfriend Rosa whilst they were quarantined within Ludz, Germany. A ghetto/labor camp for Jewish people. The title of the book is Daniel's Story by Carol Matas.
