Speak Up
"Speak up! Speak up!"
People always say,
But it's harder than it seems,
When you're surrounded by all your friends,
And sometimes enemies.
They begin to tease, and I want to say,
"Hey, cut it out! That really isn't funny."
But when put in the situation,
I just laugh with everybody.
I know it's wrong
It makes me mad
And fills me up with shame,
That when another person hurts
I laugh like it's a game.
That's why the next time laughing starts,
I'll find the strength in me,
To accuse the guilty party
And befriend the one in need.
