I Know That You Feel It
You feel it. I know that you feel it,
But I feel it in the pit of my stomach
And words cannot describe
The butterflies that flutter into my chest.
And I know that you feel it, but
You do not feel the ache of longing
Or the nervous tension of
New experience and the unknown.
And I know you feel it somewhere but,
You do not feel it in the depths of your heart
Or at the base of your throat.
Not even in your fingertips that eagerly type.
And I know that you feel it,
But you do not feel the conflicting pain
Of knowing what's right and what feels right;
Knowing they are not the same.
