Lingering
I'm lingering
But I don't want to
I want to be dropped,
Crashed, and stop
To take my breath
I want to be shocked
And be alive
With a story to tell
I don't want to linger,
Waiting for life to happen
I don't want to be a falling
Raindrop on a windowsill
That stops three feet from
The ground because gravity
Wanted to take a break
I want to fall to the ground
Evaporate, and tell
The clouds of my
Journey
I don't want to linger
On the sidewalk
Watching cars go by
I want to be in those cars
I'll be a fine glass
That collapses off the table
And slams the ground
Without shatter or crack
Then tell the next wine
Of my adventure
We all need to surf this
Wave called life
Not be a commentator
For its challengers
Otherwise, you're just
Lingering
If your deodorant doesn't
Wear off
By the end of the day,
You're lingering
