I stare at you
As you lie in your woman's arms
The smile on your face
So sweet and innocent
The one I saw ever so often
When you were little
I float above you
A circle of my love for you
Now encases you and her
I have no physical body
I'm only a mass of energy
Some consider the dead walking the earth a curse
I don't because I see you
I watch as you and she
Fall asleep and dream of a beautiful life
A tear falls from my ghostly face
Not of sadness
But from happiness
That you found a woman
With a heart full of laughter and joy
I'm ecstatic because she makes you happy
I don't regret dying of cancer
In a hospital bed
The last sounds of your agonized screaming and crying
Are now a distant, but memorable echo
Of a hellish life you were forced to endure
You had no time for yourself
For you and your wife as you took care of me
I have no regrets
I have no sadness
I'm not angry with anything or one
I'm happy
That you're happy
I'll always remember you
When I leave this earth
You are my world
My most beloved son
I'm glad that your wife
Makes you the happiest man ever
Giving you more than you ever dreamed of
I love you

The author's comments:
People sometimes wonder whether or not their mother loves them when the mother dies. If the mother loves and dies while still loving her child, I believe that this is how she would see things...Other than the overprotectiveness she feels when her child has a significant other. LOL
