Not Even Your Choice
I stay awake until 3am
While you are fast asleep;
I think about your beautiful eyes
And the smile I wish you'd keep.
And I hope that you are safe and sound,
Though my head spins and spins.
I cannot help but feel your presence
And the peace to which it brings.
Though I do not feel your embrace,
I do not fear the night;
My resting body is able to rest
knowing you are alright.
But tomorrow I will miss you again,
If I do not hear your voice.
I hate knowing you're my one and only
When I'm not even your choice.
