Save The Young Ones
I am a woman in the real world
Now I'm approaching 20.
Life is a money making game
And feelings have become empty.
I was a girl looking for fun
When I was 16;
Busy making memories in places
I had never been.
I could have become anyone,
Back when I was 9.
The days were long, empty too;
Yet wasting time was fine.
But I'm still the kid longing for attention,
Like when I was 8.
Shame you can't rescue my ageing soul,
But for the young ones, it's not too late.
