Not Mine
Five years old.
Bright blue eyes
meet mine
every time.
Ten years old.
We laugh when we find joy.
Those bright blue eyes
are still alive.
Fifteen years old
and every time I
search for those bright blue eyes
they look away.
Twenty years old.
I’ve lost him completely
and when I said goodbye,
without a word he looked away.
