Paper
Blank paper stares at me
Blank, empty; like my heart
But there, a scratch of pencil
Soon, I stare with awe, another appears
Scribbles form and cover the page
Black
No white is left, every bit filled
My heart is cracked, broken
The scribbles upon the page show me
Red
My heart is dead, bleeding
The paper filled, exhausted
The words had to be written
Expressed
Admitted
A tear falls, the lead runs
A stumble, I land on my knees
I feel weak, spent, destroyed
A hand to my wet cheek comes away
Black
And a look to my heart comes away
Red
Thus it is when you live a life like mine
