Our Song
Sing me a song of days gone by -
Of knights long ago as their horses
they ride,
Of sailors laid to rest on the ocean's
cool tide,
Of working and toiling through the long,
hard, day,
And those workers and toilers
pining away.
Sing me a song of days gone by -
Of cathedrals so vast they scorch
the sun,
Of books being written and pondered
'till done,
Of Heaven and Hell, but what does
that mean?
Don't we all, in the end, want to
stay clean?
Sing me a song of humanity -
Of how we are envious, angry,
and blind,
Of how we can slaughter and kill with
our mind,
And yet how we are also
Glorious as gold,
Beautiful as broken glass,
Strong as swords.
Sing me a song of days
gone by.
Sing me a song of days
all around.
Sing me a song of days that
will come.
We are all connected.
We are all the same.
Sing me our song.
