The Reader
All the words she's read before,
are hidden in her eyes,
take care not to trust her lips,
for all they tell are lies,
her feet are tapping to the tune,
of stories deep within,
and her ears will listen only for,
the songs from where she's been,
she gulps down books and poetry,
still craving more and more,
when it seems she drank too much,
then from her eyes it poured,
she knows how to live, you see,
it shows right in her eyes,
for every word that she has read,
has filled her up inside.
~C.L.
Words impact us.
Sometimes in big ways...
But sometimes, in small ways, too.
And those are what matter the most.
