"You must be in control of the authorship of your own destiny. The pen that writes your life story must be held in your own hand." Irene C. Kassorla

You drive down the road
In your big red pick up truck.
Glance into your rearview mirror
See me standing in the dust.
Tears are streaming down my face
'Cause you broke my heart
Then drove away
Never to return.
Keep on driving
I don't wanna see you
Back on my doorstep.
You broke my heart,
But you don't care.
In a few weeks
I won't remember
The day you left me here.
And I'll have yet
To see the day you shed a tear
Over that day you broke my heart.
You drive down that lonely road
In your big red pick up truck,
Glance into your rearview mirror,
But I'm no longer there...

This is my poem. Actually Taylor Swift inspired me to write this. If you read this, please leave me a comment. I'd really appreciate it! Thanks!

I found this poem to be a sweet reminder of the tender heart of youth. Well done!
