Beautiful Disaster
The fallen trees surround my home
The city that was once so vivacious now lies empty and ugly
The scent of flood water and mold fills the air
And my previous life somehow escaped me.
Where were we to go?
What were we to do?
Why would God create such a disaster?
These heavy thoughts clouded my mind
And left me unanswered.
But wait…
Was this really a disaster?
Or was it something beautiful
This tragedy transformed all of us
That storm made us
One city, one community, one person
Equal, at last.
