Across This Fence
You are fleeing from your country to the Land of the Free
You do not want a life of drug, gang, murder, violence, trafficking, or dictatorship
You care about your kids future and not the one you have
You take your family and pack your things and leave in the dead of night
When the people are asleep and you sneak out like a shadow-silent and sight
You travel through the heat and cold and night and day
The kids are cold and tired and you look at them and say just a little more further
You see a family not to far from you being caught by the Border Patrol.
Your family is frighten and nervous
Your wife has tears in her eyes
Your kids hold your hands tightly
You do not turn back but stay hidden
Back in America,
There are people who do not support people who are Immigrants
No, they hate them and discriminate us for what they see and hear about our people
We are all human
Not in there hatred eyes
We have people who will fight for you
We will not stand discrimination from people who do not know their ancestors came here illegally
We get spat at
We get shouted at
We stay strong with our flag held high
Not the Land of the Free but our Countries Flag that show who we are
Back to You,
You passed by the Boarder Patrol without being seen
You pray for the other family
While your wife tell your kids a story of a life better than the one they once knew
You smile at her
She smiles back at you
Days turn into Weeks
Your tired from the walking and running
Your cold from the weather
Your scared of returning back home
You stay strong for your family
When the day comes, you see the wire fence to the Land of the Free
You see no Border Patrol
You make a run and help your family over the fence
You let the kids go first than your wife
You kiss her for what seem to be your last kiss
You tell them to run and you will be right behind
They run and run like a cheetah.
You are the last one to be caught
You do not resist but you are taken
You sacrifice your life for your families
Across this fence you hope for your family for a better life
Back in America,
We are not the Land of the Free
We are not who we say we are
This land was never ours to begin with
This land belong to the Natives
The Europeans came here illegally and took it
Who are we to say that the Whites think they are high and mighty
When it is them who came to this land illegally
We do not say for them to go back to their country in Europe
We do say nothing
Across this fence, we will fight for our kind-not the one who murder and think they can get away with it- but the ones who deserve a better life
