On Our Way Home
A rocky road of disarray
Your words pull me east, as your eyes pull me west
We took the road the most traveled by
It led us in circles
Without a way home
I saw each shortcut as an opportunity
Yet they all led me back to you
It took me until now to realize
This rout was a joke
Nothing more than an excuse to keep me around
Your belly was growling, you’d been on the road too long
Pretending you didn’t know the way back
So to cover your lies you left me in the cold
To satisfy your hunger
I lie there weak from you neglect
As you enjoy a meal with a stranger
