Voices
Your voice haunts my dreams.
It’s more pleasant than it seems.
I hear it almost everyday.
It’s always quiet to my dismay.
I wonder why you’re always here.
I miss you so much, I never fear.
You ask me to do so many things,
As if I’m living on Earth with wings.
Sometimes I beg for you to be quiet,
But you don’t hear me, you’ll never try it.
I want to hear your laugh again,
Like when we’d hang out with all our friends.
But now your voice is very weak.
It’s hard to listen as you sadly speak.
We always had a lively time.
Up our tree we’d forever climb.
Yes, I still hear when you talk to me,
Remembering how it used to be.
It was so long ago, we were only eleven.
Will you tell me what it’s like up there in heaven?
