There will come a time
When running will no longer be a choice
A whisper silenced by years
Will once again find its voice

Shielded sweet tears
By a resolute heavy hearted wall
No longer will be barricaded and denied
But be recognized and forced to fall

Fear hidden in the dark
A blurred line between wrong and right
Will clarify and step forward
Out of misty unfiltered light

Scars upon the heart
That the bearer is forced to feel
Never forgotten by waited time
But in forgiveness will finally heal

Significance of the soul
No longer measured by scale
But rather own characteristic standards
Ensuring neither pass nor fail

Loves and friends made
To join as a support of one
To be there at the break of dawn
And dusk as day settles done

Hope will flourish
When happiness knows no strife
Peace and prosperity join forces
And nothing is more beautiful than life

Breaking free from the common tread
Without fear or penalty of crime
Hope, trust, love, peace, and happiness
There will come a time

This poem comes from waiting for the time when I can be truly confident and happy.
