O.B.E.
I look at you with tears in my eyes
I feel so alone and just wish I would die
You tell me "Suck it up and let it go,
Cause, sweetheart, no one else can know"
Silently, the tears stream down my face
And I retreat to my to a dark and empty place
And even as I do
I feel a sickening hatred towards you
I wish you would understand
Oh, how that would make me feel grand
But now, as I try to explain it,
You make it so hard to be patient
You only hear what you want to hear
You're so wise, or so you appear
I've never been able to understand you
Or all the things you choose to do
Your words echo in my head
Every night before I go to bed
"Suck it up and let it go,
Cause, sweetheart, no one else can ever know"
I look into your eyes
And I see all the pain you keep inside
You want to scream and shout
Yeah, I've got you figured out
You smash your fist against the wall
Then do it again, putting in your all
It feels like an O.B.E.
Because really, you are me
