My Home
Home calls me
I can hear the summons
From the park
Across the street
Home’s front door smiles
Welcoming
While its glass eyes
Shimmer in the sun
Inside, home’s décor
Works like a brain
Frames on the wall
Holding memories
Little nerves running about
Arranging dinner
And fixing the lamp
That the smallest nerve broke
Wooden stairs guide me
Up
Up
Up
To the smallest eye
My eye
And I watch the other
Children
Watch them run to
Their own homes
Until the voice of my
Comfort calls me
Down
Down
Down
