Baseball
The crack of the bat
the feel of the ball
I made perfect contact
the best of all
Speed down the white line
on to first
hopefully I won't need
a final burst
Choach yells to head for two
I touch the bag and circle around
I just now see the ball
on the ground
it is far and the kid must hurry
I round second in a fury
I can't stop now
I am not done
cause if I score
we have won
A final cheer
comes from the crowd
as the catcher calls
for the ball aloud
I put all my heart
into the slide
I pass the plate
everyone is silent
The ump yells
Your safe
you have won
the game
