Nightmares
We all have those nights,
where we never wish to wake up.
The life in our head
seems much less
corrupt.
These thoughts overpower us, all through the day,
and sooner or later, we forget they can’t stay.
For the next night,
the pleasant sentiment doesn’t come back.
Instead the mind wakes us,
feeling attacked.
These dreadful pictures,
clouded up in our brain,
create frozen images to drive us
insane.
Then the beautiful thoughts—they get lost in our head, too.
They smother our perception,
and we never know what to do.
