Broken Glass
Haze stammered the line of life
A warm hand clasped in mine, cold as ice
A dizzying sense of all I’d ever done rushed through my head
Watching my body from above, an angel of surrender
Longing for the comfort of escape
Fear hung in the voices of those around me
A cold sweat breaking out through the overwhelming heat
Waiting for the worst, praying for salvation
Wishing that it could all just be over
That the pain of causing tears would cease
And the night would swallow the disaster unfolding
A dream for the broken
