Flight.
A bird just hatched wants to fly,
But not the right and wonders why?
Why can I not fly away?
And do what my parents do everyday.
I can take care of myself,
And clean my nest,
Arrange my shelf
And preen my chest.
I'm mature and know what to do,
This isn't just something I'm going to rush into.
"Fine".
The bird was given its right,
"Fine".
Its parents gave up the fight.
"Fine".
The bird left and found flight.
"Fine".
It seized the day, and found new heights.
And yet day by day it knew,
That it had never seen its parent’s points of view.
Whenever it thought they tried to hush its sound
They were really trying to lay ground
For the day that it would fly away
And not know where its future lay.
Thinking these things of guilt and love
It went back to its old home above
Between the trees going strong,
It struggled with its feelings of right and wrong.
It came back to the place where it once thought it would waste
And thought of how it left in haste,
And wished it could take it all away
And go back to the day when all it did was play.
