Wearing Bare
Between my toes, do I like it?
Wouldn’t call it squishy,
too smooth to my skin.
Chewy, yes I’d say
were it to mind itself in my mouth.
Grainy and raw though it would be,
a shivering sensation would scratch at my teeth.
As I walk upon its soft slush,
a calmness collapses around my feet.
Pore by pore, speck by speck.
Why can’t we all just wear
bare?
A friendly shock to my spine,
Now the shimmering liquid gently pinches.
