Where Were You
Where Were You?
When I needed someone to teach me how to throw a baseball,
And when it was time to take the training wheels off my bike?
When mom was working late and we lived in a dirty apartment with no money,
You weren’t there and neither was your child support check.
And what about all of those birthdays you missed?
Couldn’t you have sent a card?
And then there was that time I was getting picked on in school.
What about when I had all those questions about girls, and nobody to give me bad advice?
When I needed someone to teach me how to drive and mom was busy,
Or when I did something stupid and needed someone to yell at me,
Where Were You?
