The One In The Bottle
What does he say?
Does he tell her to stay?
He’s lost, confused
Has a feeling of being used
Where is his mind
It seems something he can’t find
Now he’s angry, upset inside
Almost how he felt when his grandmother died
Where does he go?
Who does he turn to?
How could he be so stupid?
This is an answer he’s always known
He goes to the one
The one who seems to be the sun
The only thing that matters
The only thing he sees
Her beautiful eyes and hair in the breeze
She is the one or at least he thinks
She is the one he sees when he drinks
When the night ends and his thoughts are dry
The one in his head will have to say goodbye
For this girl was only a dream
Enough pain to make him scream
Night after night he picks up the bottle
Just to see her face one last time.
