A Life of My Own

I have a life of my own.
True I do indeed
Depend on some for
The bigger things,
But hinestly I can
Take care of myself.
I refuse to pick up
The phone every hour.
I'm not five years old
On the first day
Of kindergarten.
I'm 19 and in college.
I do love you but
I have a life of my own.
It's not that i have
Forgotten you or want
Nothing to do with you.
You are family and always
In my heart. but I'm
Tired of sparing your
Feelings. It's time
To let go and let me have
A life that is my own.
