Ones to Remember
I stare at the pavement,
Lost to the massive world around me.
Minds follow my every step.
I turn around.
Look away.
Seeing the doubts and broken hearts behind me,
I weep silently for them.
Tears leave the trace of my life.
I am unknown by them, but I understand and help them.
They follow me.
They are always going to be here.
I accepted my duty to be here, too.
Yet still unseen in their confused and temperate lives,
I keep my feet fertile to my place for which I was destined to be.
I slow my pace.
Patience glows within my soul and love throughout my heart.
I am strong.
I will never move.
I catch them by the hand and say,
“ I am here.”
