The Presence
These games have been played,
And lives have been lost.
The knell is sounding,
For those who paid the cost.
The cards have been played,
Time is not coming back.
The hourglass turns,
And it all fades to black.
The charcoal thoughts,
Faded with smoke.
Are spreading to others,
Who don’t get this joke.
They’re moving on now,
With much posthaste.
The other side is evil,
And our team is erased.
Our loves are abandoned,
Left alone to cope.
We’ll lead them through valleys,
And up mountains of hope.
Around and Around,
There are memories here.
They subtly haunt you,
But do not cause you fear.
Just to know they’re with you.
And that you’re never alone,
Even when they seem absent,
And they’re presence is gone.
