Chimes
Tick tock chimes the grandfather clock
As its journey begins,
It sings a tune of laughter and sorrow
Mixing tears with grins.
The hands of the clock keep turning
With every lesson learned,
They move past the bad times
And all worldly concerns.
The pendulum rocking back and forth
Like a heart softly spoken,
Sometimes we have to wind it up
From being brutally broken.
As the journeys begin to fade
And the clock starts slowing,
Our hearts of joy and love run dry
And come to the end of growing.
This is the time we say goodbye
At the end of everyday,
As we listen to the chimes
Slowly fade away
