One Day
When I hear the sound I will know
I won’t stay here I will go
He lifts me up and I spread my wings
I start to fly as the bell rings
My heart starts pounding I just can’t wait
For him to lead me through his gate
I see my family they look so happy
Not a sad face, no one’s unhappy
I hear his amazing voice
Then I start to rejoice
Is this what it feels like to be in heaven?
Because, I accepted god in my life at age eleven
Looking into his eyes made me realize
Why did I tell all those lies?
I love my god, he’s an amazing man
Because, when I started to walk he touch me then I ran
He reached out to grab my hand
Then he led me to the promise land
Instead of thorns, it was a crown that belongs to a king
And when it was placed in his head, the choir began to sing
No more fears, no more tears
I’ve been waiting for this day for sixteen years
My heart does break though for those people who didn’t understand
That there’s only one god and one promise land and this is where I know stand
I tried to get people to believe
But they just wanted to deceive
It’s too late now he gave you a chance
Now you’re left behind and can’t advance
I finally got to shake the hand of a man that died for me
He said “welcome to heaven Rebecca there’s the gate and here’s the key”
