This is My Now
Chances come and go
but they won't wait for you
your identity is in no one else
no one can take away the essence of being you
People can't hurt you
unless you let them get to you
people can't use you as a door mat
unless you allow them to walk all over you
And I am so sick of being the one
to break down, melt down
in the end, I end up broken
I'm sick of letting you push me around
of being let down
I know it takes awhile
to get stronger
with each passing day, color fades from grey
maybe I can hold on just a bit longer
I'm sick of letting my past
get the very best of me
remembering, reliving every second of the day
it just keeps destroying me
I finally found someone
I have to let it go somehow
I'm going to live the way I want to
because this is my time, this is MY NOW
