It Rained That Day
I held your hand as it went cold.
I couldn’t leave your side.
The nurse came with words to console,
But the entire time I cried.
Your face so calm, I kissed your cheek.
Now you’re not in pain.
From your bedside I began to weep
While outside it rained.
I laid my head on your chest,
How I miss you so.
But I’m glad that now you may rest.
I love you more than you know.
