Out the window is rain
Falls gently and makes patterns on the sidewalk.
Soft sounds of raindrops calm me
as I inhale the moist air.
Vibrating, drops reach the surface.
Millions come in seconds.
Bursts of thunder and sparks of lightning
Erupting from the distance,
Shaking the Earth
Drops charge
Faster,
in a race to the ground below.
Slowly, the clouds part.
The fog fades, the rain stops.
As I look up to see
a rainbow that had been there all along.
