A Burning Ocean
Watching rain drops on the pane
I felt dissonance I couldn’t explain
An unpleasant scent wafting in the air
I tried to evade the undertow
The sea’s undercurrent dragged me low
In a drowning emotion that overtook me
It was my underbelly that swelled
with flowing
Water is life’s seed of sowing
However it sunk everything
A steadiness I tried to horde
King Triton’s horn I implored
Blow it to the waves calming
And in a tragic end fit for hell
I fell deep down into that well
But it was the water that burned me
