A Nightmare Of You
I dream of you every night
And how things once were
Each dream is the same
Of our last night together.
You picked me up
Took me out
And showed me the true beauty of the stars.
I can feel your touch
Your breath on my neck
The sound of your voice in my ear.
I see us driving
“18th floor balcony” playing in the background
You turn to and smile at me
I’ll never forget that smile
And then you yelled my name.
Everything went black.
Then I awake screaming
Safe in my room.
You died that night
Hit by a drunk driver
And now that you’re gone
I never noticed
How lonely life was
Without you by my side.
