Untitle Sonnet
Another lonely midsummer night dream:
I wandered along the untraveled path,
Followed the sounds of the river downstream
To a clearing of fallen trees that wrath
Of the wind had taken care to scatter.
This sight was magnificent; I was awed.
But this fixation made me feel sadder
As it dawned on me this image was flawed.
The fallen trees shimmered in the moonlight.
Such a blinding vision I was seeing,
As the numerous trees rose up in flight.
I found myself questioning their fleeing,
But since they seemed to travel quite carefree,
I just left the clearing and let them be.
